There are three different door systems that are most commonly used for aircraft hangars, which are: bi-fold, hydraulic, and sliding doors.
Bi-fold Door: folds horizontally in the middle to open and while open, it sticks out of the building. See picture below
Hydraulic Door: opens and rises as a single unit. Similar to a garage door, it can take up ceiling space.
Sliding Door: opens by sliding to the side. This can limit the accessible width of the building and may be hard to open if you live in a snowier area.
